Mrs. Deane died on Friday, February 7, 2014, at The Presbyterian Home. Born in Portsmouth, OH, on August 21, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Linton Anderson and Martha Merle Anderson. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ladies Bible Class where she taught Bible lessons for several years, and served as a Deacon.
Mrs. Deane graduated from Jewish Hospital School for nurses in Cincinnati, OH, and worked in several hospitals in Cincinnati and in Charlotte, NC. She worked as Head Nurse of Coronary/Intensive Care and as an Instructor at Presbyterian Hospital of Charlotte until retirement.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Diane D. Elmore and W.R. “Bill” Elmore of Chapin, SC; four grandchildren, Joel W. Collins III of Raleigh, NC, Andrew P. Collins II of Jacksonville, FL, Christina Collins Rogers of Irmo and Denise Lee-Deane Elmore of Houston, TX; six great-grandchildren; and one niece, Lenora McCauley of Cincinnati, OH.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Gordon Deane; her son, Gordon Anderson Deane; her sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Harry Brown.
