Betty Jo Weeks Curry

Betty Jo Weeks Curry, age 100, widow of James Albert “Ab” Curry, passed away, Friday, May 29, 2026 at Langston Square.

She was born on April 13, 1926 in Laurens, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Larry Weeks and Emma Satterwhite Weeks. Betty Jo retired from The Palmetto Bank with 25 years in customer service. She was an active member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church where she was the oldest living member.

Betty Jo is survived by her son: Jim Curry (Susan); her daughter, Christy Coates (Charlie); her grandchildren, Curry C. Wilson (Edward) and Jena Curry; her great-granddaughter, Ellie Wilson.

In addition to her parents and her husband “Ab” of 73 years, Betty Jo is preceded in death by her grandson, William Cody Coates; her sister, Marcelle Lambert.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Mr. Ray Bell officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the gravesite. 

In lieu of flowers, please honor Betty Jo with memorials to Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, 993 Rocky Springs Church Road, Laurens, SC 29360.

The family would like to give special thanks to Langston Square and Crescent Hospice for all the love and care to their mom.
