Annette was born in Saluda County, the daughter of Perry Ransom Bledsoe and Bennie Mae Turner Bledsoe on 18 October 1938 and died 2 January 2026 at her home in Lake Rabon Estates, Laurens County. She grew up as a Baptist but married a Methodist preacher and was a member of a number of Methodist churches, most recently Simpsonville.
She was affectionately known as “Gram” and loved her family and reading. This tribute would reach unprecedented lengths if we were to try to delineate her incredible role in our lives.
She is survived by the Reverend Vernon O. Anderson, her husband of almost 67 years; sons Bradley Lane Anderson and his wife Ann Lazarus Anderson of Dublin, Georgia; Traywick Cameron Anderson and his wife Erika Bennett Anderson of Lake Worth, Florida; granddaughters Tabitha Stanley Anderson of Asheville, North Carolina, and Tristan Dagny Anderson of Dover, New Hampshire and their mother Susan Anderson of Fletcher, North Carolina; grandsons Ryan Lazarus Anderson of Auburn University, Alabama, and his fiancée Megan Denney of Ashland, Alabama; Scott Turner Anderson and his wife Delaney Richter Anderson of Statesboro, Georgia; two sisters, Cora Murdaugh and her husband Wade of Lake Murray and Florida, and Dolly Evans and her husband Dr. Forest Luke Evans of Sheldon, South Carolina; and two nephews and a niece, as well as ten great nieces and nephews.
Annette graduated from Saluda High School, Spartanburg Junior College, and the University of South Carolina. She taught more than 700 students from 1979 until her retirement in 2002 in Hartsville, Clinton, Charleston, and Lancaster.
