Alvin Bullard

Alvin Bullard, age 77, husband of Linda Melton Bullard, passed away, Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Hospice of Laurens County.

He was born in Whitmire, South Carolina on November 13, 1948 and was the son of the late George T. Bullard and Mary Ellen Reid Bullard.

Alvin retired from J.P. Stevens and later was a security guard for Renfro in Whitmire and Pioneer in Prosperity. He was a member of the Heritage Wesleyan Church and a proud US Army Veteran of Vietnam receiving the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Alvin enjoyed fishing, woodworking and making crosses to give away, old westerns, playing his guitar. Alvin loved the Lord and his family.

Alvin is survived by his wife Linda of 57 years; his sons, William Scott Bullard (Tonya) of Hartsville, Chris Alvin Bullard (Jessica) of Pomaria; his brother, Allen E. Bullard (Diann) of Kansas City, MO; his sister, Mary B. Herring (Mike) of Elgin; his grandchildren, Kirsten Ellen Bullard, Aden Scott Bullard, Emilee Taylor Carpenter, Payton Lane Carpenter; his dearly loved Siamese cat, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, Alvin is preceded in death by his siblings, Michael Bullard and Sherale Bundrick.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with Rev. Mark Stevenson and Rev. Glenn Walker officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Whitmire Cemetery.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
