Agnes Black Barber, age 79, of Clinton, passed away, June 18, 2026 at Hospice of Laurens County.
Born on January 10, 1947 in Laurens County, Agnes was the daughter of the late Horace Eugene Black and Mary Lois Bledsoe Black. She was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and lived that out as a member and secretary of Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church. She retired from Timken with over thirty years of service. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and was known for her sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Barber of Clinton, and Jill Garrett (Josh) of Chesnee; her brother, James Edward Black of Clinton; her sisters, Brenda Black Eaves of Clinton, and Faye Couch of Bonds Crossroads. Agnes is also survived by her grandchildren, Summer Cooper (Stephen) of Fountain Inn, Autumn Roland (Jay) of Laurens, and Bethany Barber of Clinton; her great-grandchildren, Jilliana Roland, Charles Roland, and Piper Cooper; along with her beloved dachshund, “Bella.”. Agnes was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Black, Linda Medlin, Vivian Spillers, and Dot Collins.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 28th at Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Bill Bull officiating.
