Doris Jean Rhodes, age 82, widow of Rudy Hines Rhodes, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the National Health Care of Clinton. She was born August 10, 1939 in Wake County, NC and was a daughter of the late Wiley Jefferson Stephenson and Cora Davis Stephenson. She was Elvis' Biggest fan, she was a wonderful loving mother, and though never having any children herself she opened her heart and home to the three children she adopted and is survived by, Judy Brinkley (Michael) of Easley, SC, Jesse Rhodes (Claudia) of Tampa, FL, and Tabitha Smithwick of MO; her grandchildren, Jennifer Mueller (Paul) of Summerville, SC, Matthew Brinkley of Easley, SC, Dakota Cuttaia of GA, Makayla Cuttaia of MO, Jesse Rhodes, Jr. Crystal Rhodes, Jonathan Rhodes; her ten great-grandchildren; her brother, Buddy Stephenson of Cary, NC. In addition to her husband and her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Bowers, her sister, Brenda Stephenson. Graveside Services will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11 AM at the Rawls Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Clarence Hardison to conduct the services. Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is assisting the family with services.
