Bernice Ellis Prather, age 85, a lifelong resident of Clinton and widow of Macon W. Prather died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at White Oak Manor in Newberry.
She was born in Clinton and was a daughter of the late William and Mary Brown Whitmire Ellis.
Mrs. Prather was retired from Presbyterian Home and was a member of the Davidson St. Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons; Randy Prather of Whitmire, Mitchell Prather of Mountville, Steve Prather of Whitmire, Myron Prather of Folly Beach; four daughters, Geraldine Hastings of Clinton, Linda Knight of Laurens, Carol Pressley of Whitmire, Terry Boyter of Kinards; one brother, Houston Ellis of Clinton; thirty-six grandchildren and fifty-one great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Prather was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:30 a.m. at the cemetery.
