Obituary:
Dateline-Laurens, SC Broadus B. Gwinn, Jr., age 63 of 177 Strickland Ave. died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Laurens County Hospital. He was born in Owings and was the son of the late Broadus B. Gwinn, Sr. and Bertha Leopard Gwinn. Mr. Gwinn was the founder and co-owner of Gwinn Siding and Window Company, was a Baptist by faith, a member of the Palmetto Masonic Lodge and Hejaz Shrine Temple and served as a member of the South Carolina Department of Transportation Board. He also served in the South Carolina National Guard and was an accomplished musician. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Jean Crowder Gwinn and his faithful dog, Rocky of the home; two sisters, Linda Milam of Laurens and Betty Strange of Columbia and beloved friend to many. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 8th at 3:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Phil Bryson. Entombment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W.
