Ralph L. Gunnels, Sr.
Ralph L. Gunnels, Sr. age 70, of 2728 Indian Mound Road died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Greenwood County and was the son of the late Mary Lee Hollingsworth and was raised by an aunt, Rosa Lee Haynes.
Mr. Gunnels was retired from Laurens Glass Co. and was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church where he attended the Proctor Bible Class and the Men’s Fellowship. He was also a member of the Laurens District 55 Century Club and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving is his wife, Carolyn Garrison Gunnels of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Missy Boyter Gunnels of Noblesville, IN; a daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Keith Johnson of Laurens; two grandchildren Jon-Michael Gunnels and Elizabeth Gunnels; a sister, Mary Frances Oswald and husband, Bill of Batesburg Leesville.
He was predeceased by a son, Rocky Gunnels.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James United Methodist Church with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
