Joseph “Burton” Bates, age 37 of 652 Double A Trail passed away Thursday, May 06, 2010 at his home. He was a loving and devoted father and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Holly McCumber Bates of the home; two sons, Joe and Austin Bates of the home; his mother, Linda Bates of Clinton; his step-mother, Patsy Bates of Union; a sister, Tiffany Berry and husband, Mark of Cross Anchor; mother-in-law, Corrine McCumber; father-in-law, Keith Trammell and wife Gail, all of Clinton; brother-in-law, Eddie McCumber and wife, Mary of Bonds Cross Roads; one niece; three nephews; and three great nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 8th at 3:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church of Clinton by Rev. Roland Dry and Rev. Greg Hellams.
The body will reside at the visitation and funeral service, followed by a cremation afterwards.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 7th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home.
The family is at the home at 652 Double A Trail in Clinton.
